Diana's People
Remember the Rose..
London 2003

It was a beautiful day..
Weather..
We all said...
Fit for the Queen of Hearts
To hear the press tell it..
Or wait..
Come to think of it..
Not tell it..
Nobody too much was there..
As you can see..
hundreds were there..
At any given time...

The right side of the gates..
Filled with tributes...

The left side..
And by Wednesday night
My last day in London...
Even more were there...

The Sunken Garden...
Where most agreed..
Diana's Memorial should be...
Not the Puddle
They call a memorial...
Way over in Hyde Park..
So far away from the Palace...
It almost is in the water..
That's all right we agreed...
We will come here anyway..
Kensington Palace
Where Diana lived..
Where she raised her sons..
And where the world cried..
And left every flower in England...
For her..

A chance meeting...
By the gates of the palace..
Barb,Julie,Beth and Pete and I..
Were walking back to where...
the gift shop was..
This lady was standing by one of the guards..
Julie asked her about the picture of Diana..
She could see sometimes..
On someone's desk..
As you pass the windows..
In the back of the palace..
She laughed and said that was her office..
And told us about a tribute they had just received for Diana...
It was done in marble..
We begged her to let us see it..
So she went in and got it!
Isn't it amazing?

Close up
These don't do the tribute justice..
It is on black marble..
but when tilted..
It shows up grey..
Almost like a hologram..
We asked her ..
Couldn't this be placed...
At Diana's Memorial fountain next year..
She hesitated..
But said, she is trying!
It is perfect..
Bet we never see it agian..
So look close..

Harrods Memorial

In the window of Harrods..
It also has a fountain just like the one inside..

The new paintings of Diana and Dodi
Grace the fountains..
I am not sure I like this portrait of Diana
But Dodis is very good..
I asked several employees who painted it..
The one in years past was a photo..
But no one knew..
