William, the duke of Normandy: 1048 to 1060
The siege is long. In the end you are without hope and must surrender. King Henry disfranchises you, takes you captive (as a check on your uncle, the new duke of Normandy), and gives you a minor fief on the Burgundian border. "William the (timid) Bastard" is more your style.
