William, the duke of Normandy: 1048 to 1060

This was not the time for leniency and mercy. You are fighting for your very survival, haven't you figured that out by now?

When you return to the siege at Domfront, your conquest of Alençon has only weakened you. By leaving a garrison there, your besieging army is not strong enough to withstand the army of count Geoffrey: he moves up to break the siege of Domfront and you are worsted in the battle. Perhaps you are even killed, it doesn't really matter. Even if you survive, you still have lost your best troops: Alençon can't hold out when Anjou attacks it again: and your diminished holdings are further reduced by more Angevin conquests. IF you survived, king Henry intervenes.Go to Paris to parley with Anjou before your king.
