This fire station was build in 1963 to replace the Old No.13 Station at Cathedral & Powers. It houses Engine 17. It used to get around 1500 calls a year, but because the new No.7 Station was build, in The Maples, it is down to only about 1100 calls a year now. Station 17 was the first station to be converted for female use as well as male use. Brenda Boyd, on Platoon 1, was assigned at #17 Stationt and was the first female firefighter.
