This page is in tribute to the one and only -
VOLVO. The VOLVO has been around for twenty
years. Sammy and Paulette purchased the car in
1981, no more than 6 months after my older sister, Cristina, was born.
The VOLVO and I grew up together. We had good times and, well, we
have good times still, but The VOLVO is starting
to get old. My sister began driving The VOLVO when she got her license,
a miracle in itself, in 1996. When she left for college, two
people decided to take the registration off of The VOLVO, leaving
it to rot and decay in our driveway. Upon receiving my license in late
July of '99, both Sammy and Paulette agreed to bring The VOLVO back from the dead.
In order for The VOLVO's reincarnation to take place, it needed an
engine transplant. However, The VOLVO first had to get its back fender
replaced. After sitting in the driveway for more than two weeks,
The VOLVO was finally taken in to receive a new engine. I thought that
I would never see or handle The VOLVO again. It was a sad day for all,
but thanks
to everyone's constant prayers, The VOLVO was
given a new life. Still, the roads are not yet clear for The VOLVO.
The break pedal does not work very well, and there is
also no A/C. We won't begin to mention the lovely tape player that has
eaten all my tapes. Nor will we mention the missing part of dashboard, or the turn signals that need to be manually turned off. But here's the deal, everyone...A lot of people have
funny stories about their experiences in The VOLVO. If you are one of these
people, how about mailing me your version of the story, (EXAMPLE: I remember
one time, I was in The VOLVO with Andrea/Cristina and...) and I will post
it on this page, so that all can see and know the LEGEND of The VOLVO!
