In O'Brien's 3rd Edition of Collecting Toys
on Page 653 there is an ad for this toy. It
is in the middle of the page. He says it was
1941. He also talks about other companies
copying this sub. This is an original Dillon
Beck version because it has the DBI on the
hull. One of those wonderful bathtub toys,
tie a string to it and pull it around under
water, then let it surface! It is red,
transparent plastic, about 5" long. The gun
is painted gray. There is an inside crack
about 1/2" long on the hull, but it isn't
thru to the outside. Also plenty of
scratches on the bottom from undersea
adventures. Aside from that it's ready to
get back in a bathtub and sink some Nazis!
O'Brien puts it at some astronomical price,
but you can have it for $25.00.
