King Edward VIII Coronation Mug

His Majesty King Edward VIII, Coronation May 1937. BUT, no he abdicated to marry that DIVORCED FLOOZIE FROM BALTIMORE Wallace (Wallis?) Simpson and they were ever after known as the Duke and Duchess of Windsor. Anyway, this is a nice little mug that was made to commemmorative his coronation in May 1937, except it never happened. It is marked J&G Meakin England on the bottom and there is also a messed up decal that looks like the Canadian Flag. I'm guessing then that it was an export. There is also an incised mark under the remains of the Canadian decal, I cannot make it out at all. No cracks, breaks or repairs. There are several iregularities around the rim, looks like bubbles in the glaze or "fleabites." Also if you look closely there is an imperfection on his head. A definite white spot above the eye and below the part. Did they send the "seconds" to Canada? $45.00.
