Crawford Gordon is a direct descendant of the 20th century Crawford Gordon, Sr. who was appointed as the head of Canada's Avro Corporation in 1954, an aircraft manufacturing corporation that produced the CF-100 Canuck, the first passenger aircraft... the Avro Jet Liner, the Lancaster Bomber, the Shackleton Bomber and the ill-fated CF-105 Avro "Arrow", the fastest military jet aircraft in the world at the time, not to mention the Orenda and Iroquois jet engines.

Crawford Gordon, Sr. was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, but moved to Malton Ontario to head the corporation. But the fall of the Progressive Conservative government to the Liberal government of John Diefenbaker, saw the Arrow project scrapped. This descision hit Crawford Gordon, Sr. the hardest and in the early 1960's, Gordon, Sr. disappeared, only to have been found dead in his home in New York City.

The Avro (A.V. Roe)Corporation still existed, under the name of Hawker-Siddley but was sold in the late 1980's, strangely enough to Crawford Gordon, Jr., who took the dying company and turned it around to continue to build aircraft (although this time it was private aircraft.) The company flourished and continued to build aircraft, then shuttlecraft and is still a systems contractor for Salazaar Shipyards.

It was destiny, perhaps, but in 2360, Sinclair Gordon merged the McDonnell Douglas Corporation with the Rockwell Corporation to form the building house of McDonnel Douglas-Rockwell-Avro Corporation.

Crawford always had a sense of pride at being part of the Avro/Gordon Legacy , and still likes to discuss with his father the rich, and ill-fated history of the Arrow.

Quotes from the Commander

Talking with Col Mackenzie:

"You think I'm that easy?... No one has ever accused me of being easy."
