sara somewhere
somewhere
on a glance so swiftly vanishing
along with all regrets and sympathies
for whatever was to be
(or not to be?)
the end of hopeful words
the vigilance
for all the things that never were
“it’s all the same” she said
same broken hearts
unmade amends
gone are the days she promised that
forever would come back
to haunt the hate that was our love
for breathing life into the hope
that everything would be the same
but not today
not tomorrow
only yesterdays of sorrow
show their faces in the light (or dark?)
of all that we were meant to be
but sara said
“it’s just a game”
it’s all we could believe
through all the times
the same old things kept happening
as meaningless as anything
the misery
that was once
enough to be
a way to love
