good poetry breaks your bones without moving from the page

good poetry makes you wet the bed every night

good poetry is read by the anarchists, the atheists and cannibals
and the basket case who mumbles to himself in a padded cell

good poetry is about impossibly unimaginative heroes

good poetry makes a god consider suicide
good poetry has claws and teeth and a fat dick

good poetry tells you what you already know
and proves that it is all wrong

good poetry is complete bullshit and dishonesty

good poetry is someone’s wife in bed with another man

good poetry is a homeless drunk that serves no purpose to society
and should never be seen by those
who consider themselves worthwhile
and productive

good poetry is not something you or i can
write,
or read,

or even fake

good poetry has no decipherable meaning
and makes no acknowledgement
of its creator

life writes good poetry
death writes good poetry

i do not write good poetry
and my guess is that
neither do you.
