FEEDING

Once our worms have settled into their new surroundings we now have to feed them.Although worms have a tremendous appetite it is very important not to over feed them. The best way to check how much we should feed them is to give them a couple of days worth of food and if that is almost all gone when you check then feed them again. It wont take long until you can judge just how much feed they will consume.

Worms will eat almost anything, these include:

There are also some things we shouldnt feed them:

Now that we know what to feed them and how much to there are just a few other simple steps we should follow to keep our worms happy. When feeding the scraps if at all possible chop or break them into small pieces as it will be easier for the worms to process.Leave the scraps in a container for a few days so bacteria will start forming because worms love bacteria. When feeding it is best to feed in one position at a time and bury the feed under the bedding so not to attract flies.
