First Appearance: Episode 29-"Sailor V Makes the Scene"
Mina is a very pretty young lady. She has long blond hair, which she cares for incessantly. For all her beauty, however, she can't seem to get a date on Saturday night.
On the other hand, Mina is a very pleasureable friend and she's ready to help others, whether it's a kindergarten rugrat or one of her Sailor Scout friends. Mina is so friendly and open that she has no real enemies, though she occasionally gets ticked off when someone mentions her boy trouble. However, this doesn't mean she can't hold her own when the need arises.
What's strange is how she enters the scene. Hers is the case of "Don't call us. We'll call you." A popular ficticious heroine of the time is known as Sailor V. Then, when the Sailor Scouts are caught in a trap, a mysterious Sailor Scout emerges, looking a lot like Sailor V. She calls herself Sailor Venus, and she brings with her Artemis, the other Guardian Cat. She saves the Sailor Scouts from the trap, and she joins the team.
Once she becomes familiar with the other Sailor Scouts, Sailor Venus becomes an excellent supporting teammate. Her usual method is to double-team with another Sailor Scout, combining powers for added effect.
Transformations
Venus Power/Venus Star Power
First episode used in: #30-A Crystal Clear Destiny
(Star) First episode used in: #59-A Charmed Life
With her orange power pen in hand, Mina thrusts her arm into the air, and shouts, "Venus Power!" A long, starry ribbon shoots out from the pen. She moves the pen all around her body, moving the ribbon along with it. Then, she holds the pen up in the air, and the ribbon encircles her body. The ribbon falls to the ground, causing an explosion of stars that engulf Mina. She reappears in her sailor suit, and does a few twirls. Then, she strikes her pose, facing forward, feet together, right arm in the air, left arm underneath her right shoulder. A few stars shine in the background.
With her orange star pen in hand, Mina holds her star pen in the air, and shouts, "Venus Star Power!" She gets her nails done like Sailor Moon, except they're collored orange. The transformation sequence is the same as the "Venus Power!" one. And at the end, the sign of Venus is in the background.
Special Powers
Venus Crescent Beam Smash
First episode used in: #29-Sailor V Makes the Scene
Two crescent moons appear, pointing outward. Sailor Venus touches these two figures with her hand, sayin, "Venus Crescent Beam . . . " Then, she points at her target with her right hand, and holds her right arm with her own hand. She says, " . . . Smash," and a golden beam of light shoots out from her hand.
Venus Meteor Shower
First episode used in: #46-Kindergarten Chaos
Serena and Mina were having a good time, singing songs with a bus full of kindergarten kids. Unfortunately, yet another cardian came to spoil the fun. The two girls went to attack the cardian, but failed. Sailor Venus got really angry at the fact that the cardian was after a bunch of little kids. After a few inspirational words from the Moonlight Knight, Sailor Venus unleashed a new attack.
(The first time she used it, her hair blew up into the air. It kind of reminded me of a Super Saiyan transformation.) Sailor Venus goes through the "Venus Crescent Beam Smash" sequence, but instead of a single beam shooting out, the single beam splits into a flurry of beams, pounding their way towards the target.
Venus Love Chain Encircle
First episode used in: #59-A Charmed Life
Sailor Venus crosses her arms across her body, saying, "Venus Love Chain . . . " A chain of linked hearts spiral around her body. Then, she points her hand in the direction of her target, and says, " . . . Encircle!," causing the chain to fly toward its target.
These are Sailor Venus' powers and transformations in future series!
SuperS
Venus Crystal Power, make up!
Mina says this to transform into Super Sailor Venus. In the manga, she looked deep inside of herself to find the ability to become "Super Sailor Venus," while in the series, Pegasus gave her the power to transform. The transformation sequence isn't much different from her old one except she throws her hair back in this one (in the last two, she never threw her hair back . . . it always kind of fell back). Anyway, I'm sure you could care less.
Venus Love and Beauty Shock
Super Sailor Venus says this when she does a kiss, producing an orange heart, which she uses to zap a bad guy. This attack is associated with the mythology of her planet, since Venus was the "Goddess of Love and Beauty."
