BIOGRAPHY: Although Bogavus is from the same school of wizardry as Falkhama and Weezasqueaza, he seems different from those 2. When the Spectral Knights take him prisioner after escaping the wizard's jail, they think he's not evil and a good overall guy. However, in the 2 episodes he appeared in, it is unknown whether he is evil or good.
Bogavus escaped the wizard's jail in "The Overthrow of Merklynn" episode, due to Darkstorm coming in hurriedly to Merklynn for his help. From there he flees to a monastery of monks in the Anarchy Zone. He merges in with the crowd dressed as a monk, and searches for an ancient scroll in the library which is a map to the Lost Shrine. This could be a glimpse of his evil, as the magic jewel in the Lost Shrine could make him the most powerful wizard. However, he doesn't speak of his intentions for getting the map. We also don't know if he had any grudge with Merklynn, unlike Falkhama and Weezasqueaza who did.
The major point Bogavus always stresses in the episode "Trail of the Three Wizards", is that he is no real wizard, and can only perform illusions, not magic. Merklynn tried to give him a test, which was aided by his magic to see if he is lying. If he is lying about not performing real magic, he will erupt into flames, and if he is telling the truth, he will be spared, and no jail for him. Amazingly, he passes the test.
However, nobody knows how powerful this wizard is, and Merklynn warns that he may still be a threat to the Spectral Knights. At the end of the "Trail of the Three Wizards" episode, Bogavus is sitting on a throne in front of a crowd of hooded people, which might be in the same monastery earlier shown. He gives a crooked smug smile on his face, and you question more if he really is a good guy. So to this very day, nobody knows what Bogavus is up to, and sadly, because the Visionaries cartoon departed after 13 episodes, so the mystery of Bogavue may never be solved.
