Green Sanctuary Committee Meeting

November 1, 2005

GS Acreditation:

Sandi has the acreditation plan on the main website.
Tom will work on charter.

Program Council Mtg
-------------------

There was a program council meeting on October 20. Tom represented the GS.
These will now be held every 3 months (Jan/Apr/July/Oct). They are co-chaired
by the President-elect and the minister. I talked about our wildflower meadow
plans, our holiday simplicity brochure, the Fox Haven trip, GS acreditation,
and our planned April "takeover" of the church.

Earth Day
---------

The day we wanted for an Earth Day service has already been taken
for a Youth Service day. We are going to try to get this to be
a combined Youth/Earth Day service.

Auction
-------

There were 18 auction baskets! 17 were bid on. Thanks Sandi for arranging
the baskets! They were very popular.

Baywise
-------

Sandi has been in contact with the Baywise people. We will try to become
Baywise certified. Information packets are coming. 

Work Parties:
------------

Change of date due to the rain on Oct 22.

Nov 19 - working in the churchyard - pulling out invasive plants - laying out 
         the wildflower area
      
Various people will be bringing cardboard for the wildflower area. Sandi will
bring gutter nails to hold down the cardboard and a tarp. People will also
be bringing leaves and other mulchy stuff to lay between the cardboard and tarp.


Adopt-a-road trash pick-up
--------------------------

Only 5 people signed up. We need to push this on the general population more.

Sierra Club
-----------

Chris has been "cross talking" with the loacl Sierra Club chapter. Perhaps we
can plan some future events together.


The December meeting was cancelled.
The next meeting will be January 3rd, 2006 at 7 p.m.
