Green Sanctuary Meeting 3/9/2008 Attending: Marney Bruce, Tom Swigart, Sandi Smith-Gill, Dick Menzer, Ed Rau, Marvelle Rau, Janet Ady, Cynthia Kuske Split Plates - Split plates for April - June will be UUMFE, American Chestnut Society, Md Chapter, and International Population Control. Split plate collections on the third Sunday, with Friendly Forum on topic the preceding (second) Sunday of month. Marney & Tom will lead the April FF on UUMFE, Marney has made arrangements for May (ACS). We need to get write-up to Cynthia by end of each preceding month, she will put in Unison (we are free to also promote in GS section). Social Action (Cynthia) - SA is outlining program for next year, emphasis will be on Education and Human Needs, plan a partnership with Coalition for Emergency Human Needs. Elmer Derr Rd Clean-up March 22 - Dave Hutchins will not be here. So far, no volunteers, We will schedule it for 10:30 so Marney can make it up from Bethesda. Chesapeak Bay Clean-up, Frederick County Tree Planting April 5 - we will organize a group from UUCF to participate. Families can participate Earth Day Party, Common Market, April 19: We will have a table illustrating what any denomination can do to make their building more energy efficient. Marney will contact GWIPL to see if they will participate with us, or provide materials. Sandi & Tom can attend. Marney will be doing 'double duty" between our table and Simplicity Matters. UUCF Earth Day Observance April 20; Rev. Abigail is not planning Earth Day worship service. We will have prominent presence in narthex and grounds. Theme - Food, all aspects (production, impact, distribution, hunger, biofuels, etc). Social Action would like to participate, let them know what they can do to help. Get publicity info to J udith Broyer. See if we can find banners.
