The Plague
(Black Death)
The early Church is the one who cause the spread of the plague. Fear and closed mindedness, superstitions did not help either! The Early Churches made claims that cats at night turned into witches (Guess what folks I have three cats and they are still cats at night too!) So the Early Church, to keep the fear going, ordered that all the dogs and the cats be destroyed.
Well, after kill man best friend and the local rat killers (cats) guess what moved in. You got it - the rats, and the rats had fleas, and fleas carried the plague with them.
