Smiley Face, Ink. is a group of freelance facepainters based out of Tulsa, OK. We are artistically motivated, and focus on the quality of our work above pomp and presentation--we are down-to-earth, kind, and don't dress as clowns (although we'd be happy to dress up for theme parties). We take pride in our reputation--email for referrals!

Our Designs

We specialize in cheek art: a design painted just on the cheek (or anywhere else, really) with no background. Because of our painting methods, the designs can be as big as the area of the body being painted on will allow. Our painters know that most people can't hold perfectly still for a long time, and we don't expect them to--each design goes on in about 2-3 minutes. We often use a dusting of glitter to make the designs even more eye-catching! Check out our gallery for some color photos of designs we painted.

Our Paints

When painting at your event we use non-allergenic, artist quality water color paints, never cheap grease paints or dangerous acrylic paints that stay wet, stain, irritate, or smear. Our paints are shockingly bright on all skin tones, and they dry so quickly that even most one and two-year olds don't have time to smear them. The designs last until they get wet. They are easily removed with a wetnap/baby wipe or hand lotion and water, and generally leave no stains even on dry skin when removed with lotion.

Our Policy

We use two major operating modes:

Flat Rate: You pay a pre-contracted rate for a specific number of painters to paint at your event for a specific amount of time, and the painter(s) arrive early, paint however many people want painted as many times as they want until time is up. This option is ideal for birthday parties and company parties, where you would like to offer enticing entertainment to your guests free-of-charge.

By-the-Face: Any available painter(s) arrive early, each guest/customer pays a set amount per design. After a set amount of time (or whenever business slows down significantly), painter(s) leave. Then, you recieve a percentage of the proceeds. This option is a wonderful success at fairs and fundraisers, especially where children (with parents) are expected, and it costs you nothing but a small square of space!
