Actually, I haven't had much success with pen pals in the past.
Most just seem to fade away after a few months or are not who they say they actually are.  A bit about me...I'm a white male, 48 years old
(49 In October), married for 17 years, divorced back in '98, no kids.
I'm kind of tall, (6'1"), dark brown hair, 195 lbs, shy at times, live one the east coast of  NJ, and have been told I'm attractive unless the ones who did lied just to be nice : )  I too am looking for a pen pal.
Not looking for a serious relationship right now, although if the right woman were to come along, I certainly would welcome it in time. 
I'm a very easy going person.  I like many different things such as
travel, (would love to see Lake George area), music, movies, camping and the beach and mountains and a good lightning storm on
a hot summer night (strange huh?).  I can be just as happy sitting on
the beach or by a mountain lake at night gazing up at the stars as dining at some 5 star restaurant.  Always enjoyed the simple things in life.  Anyway....if you are still looking for a friend, someone to communicate with, please send me a response.  I am not a pervert or someone looking for money or a free ride.....just good clean talk with someone who is also a decent person.  Thanks for reading my email...take care.
