Life is like a country road
Filled with bumps and twists
Not at all a super highway
But one that winds
Through the forest
Around corners that are blind
We never know
What is coming up around
The next bend
Or where we will end up
When we reach the fork
Whichever one we choose
Determines where
We are bound for
We met midway along
That road in life
Each coming from
Complicated routes
With beautiful sunrises
And rainy days filled
With mud puddles
Placed in our paths
It wasn't an easy trip
But somehow
Through all the twists and turns
We ended up on the same lane
And where ever it leads next
I like going along
Holding your hand
Discovering what is around
The next turn
And knowing you are always
Beside me
