The UNDEAD

Azeman – South America. During the day is a human female but at night turns into a bat. Loves to count everything. This is South America’s version of the European vampire.

Banshee – Restless spirits of evil witches and females. They live in this material world – scared to cross over for fear of being punished. Skull with hair and a flowing dress, floating above the ground. Ethereal creature with the power to move through walls. The howls of despair are meant to bring certain death to those who hear it.

Bogeyman – Malevolent ethereal. They are either really evil or just harmless troublemakers. Shape shifters able to move objects. May haunt a family or become friends with them and play with the children. They will bring harm, to evildoers and liars.

Bogie – Mischievous but harmless. They live in darkness anywhere they can find it. Loves to go where people store items they no longer use, as in a basement or attic. Clumsy creatures that like to amuse themselves by removing the covers at night of sleeping humans or standing behind someone causing them to feel uneasy.

Ghost – Spirits of the dead trapped here and cannot move on. Ethereal. There are many categories of ghosts. They cannot be harmed or laid to rest except by an exorcism or a blessed weapon.

Apparition – Figure of dead who returns to familiar surroundings.

Bogie Man – Tormented or frightened spirit.

Discarnate – Beings without bodies. Recently passed on soul.

Poltergeist – Ghost who is noisy, disturbing.

Spirit – Guide, angel, natural spirit or soul.

Ghoul – These creatures were once men, but cannibals. They are still humans but they have sharper teeth and nails. They also have a tinge of green to their faces.

Jack o’ Lantern – Jack was once a quick-witted but lazy farmer. One day the Devil tried to tempt him but Jack was able to trick the Devil into climbing a tree. The Devil got stuck and asked Jack to help him down. Jack told him on one condition – the Devil had to promise him that when Jack died he was not allowed to enter Hell. The Devil had no choice but to agree. When Jack finally died he went to Hell but the Devil kept his word so Jack went to Heaven. Because he hadn’t led a good life on Earth he was sent away forced to walk the earth looking for somewhere to stay. He carved a lantern out of a gourd and placed a candle in it to help him see at night.

Knocker – Type of Kobold. They live deep in the mines. Good natured and helpful. They would help the miners find good veins by knocking on the walls. They are friendly but tricksters. Also known as Buccas in Wales they originated in Cornwall, England.
