The word comes from the ancient Sanskrit word meaning “wheel of light”.  According to esoteric teachings the body has 21 minor and 7 major charka points.  Each point represents a vortex of energy that spins like a wheel.  Chakras, Auras and Chi work together to maintain balance and health.  Each charka supports a different area of the body and any negative blockage along the network of charkas can cause illness and unbalance.  Human charka systems run along a vertical plain while animals run along a horizontal plain.  If your pet needs healing this is good information to remember because the same process of healing a human can be applied to all living things.

Chi many people believe is the basis for electromagnetic energy.  Eastern philosophers believe that the chi will enter the body at the top of the head and travel downward activating the 7 primary charkas which in turn will activate the remaining minor chakras.  When a living thing is in perfect health the chakras are spinning or vibrating at incredible speed.  Many feel that the chakras when working properly and are balanced will open like flowers.  The rainbow represents the chakras and each of the 7 main ones are assigned a color from the rainbow to help visualize them.   Chakras are nourished by chi, meditation, healthy eating, and breathing exercises.

Witchcraft manipulates energy and so it is necessary to the charka system and how to keep that system in balance while raising energy for various things.  These would include meditaion, magick, spellwork, and ritual.  For example if a person were to continually work negative magick then the energy body will eventually sicken and die.  Witches do not work negative magick.   This sickness can affect the mind and the body of that individual.

There are 7 Kundalini chakras and a few Hara chakras.

The Hara chakras are located at the upper chest, a foot above the head, a foot below the feet, and two fingers widths below the navel.

These are called (in order as above) Etheric Heart or Thymus, Soulstar, Earthstar, and the Hara or Tan Tien.

There are also chakras at the bottom of the feet and the palms of the hands

Each of the 7 Kundalini chakras has a basic right that if not expressed or are infringed upon can cause a problem in that chakra. They are as follows…

  1. The right to be or exist.

  2. The right to feel or express needs.

  3. The right to act and be free.

  4. The right to be loved and to love.

  5. The right to hear the truth and to speak.

  6. The right to see and not have things kept from self.

  7. The right to know the truth spiritually.

The following can challenge the chakras.

  1. Fear.

  2. Shame.

  3. Guilt.

  4. Lies.

  5. Illusion.

  6. Grief.

  7. Attachment.
