This is the time of the Lady and Lord's handfasting. At Yule the God will be reborn from the Lady.

To celebrate many dance around the Maypole which is a phallic symbol that represents the Lord.  This is a fire and fertility festival. A time for rejoicing and sexual unions. A time for appreciation and accepting love in any form. The Great Rite is performed at this time

Flower: The rose or any spring flower

Candle: White but red and pink are okay

Colors: Red &  white

Symbols: the Maypole, flowers, eggs,

Long ago all fires were put out and one main fire was lit then all others were relit from the main one.
