Airport.

‘It’s strange’ Major Davis thinks as he makes his way through the airport terminal to pick up General O’Neill. ‘He’s only been General and in command of the SGC for a year, surely the Chief of Staff would promote another, more seasoned General to the position.’ Not that Paul doubted his competence, as General O’Neill had the most experience in such matters as Homeworld Security. It was the position General Hammond resided in until his retirement recently. Major Davis spotted the large green sign ‘Arrivals’ and headed down a corridor that was veering off to the left. ‘I should know this airport by now!’ Yet the teeming mass of people and seemingly similar passages left Paul following signs. ‘I am interested how General O’Neill will fair in the Bureaucracy and paperwork-pushing Pentagon.’ Not that Paul thought General O’Neill was lazy, unintelligent, or bad with people, but he always seemed too ‘active’ and too useful too be taken out of the field. ‘Apparently, he was getting too old, although he doesn’t look it, and was in a perfect position to take over from General Hammond. Paul thought that General O’Neill looked not a day over fifty and probably had a body better than him. The only thing that was distinguishable was his grey hair, ‘and that really isn’t important- he has really brown eyes...’ Paul physically stopped that thought, bringing himself to a halt as well. He scanned the area for any sign of General O’Neill. After five minutes, O’Neill came striding out of Arrivals, he came to a halt next to Major Davis.

“Major.”

“General; I hope your flight was reasonable?”

“It was ok, I take it you are bringing me to the Pentagon?”

“Yes, follow me…”

“Major Davis, the exit is that way.”

“Quite. If you don’t mind, you lead the way, Sir.”

“Yeahsureyahbetcha.”

End!
