Gimli son of Gloin met Frodo in Rivendell. He has been with the Fellowship ever since. He has become great friends with Legolas the Elf (which is strange because Elves and Dwarves have hated each other for centuries), and helped find Merry and Pippin with the help of Aragorn and Legolas.
