Piecemakers Quilt Guild

Program:

Lois Jarvis will be doing our July program on her quilt, "Ground Zero." Lois has a BFA in textile

design and a BS ED from Northern Illinois University, 1975. She has worked since graduation

as a fiber artist, mainlyin patchwork and quilting. For the past 15 years she has taught quilting

classes for Madison Area TechnicalCollege, local quilt shops, area quilting groups and in

her home. Currently, she is combining her love ofworking with found objects with fabric,

traditional quilting techniques, computer technology and the sewing machine.

Secretary’s Report

The June meeting of the Piecemakers Quilt Guild was called to order at 7:30 pm on

June 12th by president, Jan Johnstone. There were 26 members and 3 guests present.

 

Program:

Donna Willadsen from Madison presented a trunk show of her quilts and wall hangings.

 

Treasurer’s report was distributed. Secretary’s report was accepted as printed in the newsletter.

 

New Business:

We will be meeting in the hallway of the church for a few months during remodeling work at the

church. The Fellowship hall is being used for services and chairs and tables should not be moved.

 

Old Business-Quilt Show:

Kim Kreger reported on the quilt show. Bookmarks are ready and quilt raffle tickets

will be available soon. Check the website for entry forms. (www.angelfire.com/magic/piecemakers)

A meeting for co-chairmen will be held later this month. The raffle quilt is being hand quilted.

 

Old Business-Relay for Life:

The relay raffle quilt will be at the Fort festivities at Jones Park on June 17th for ticket sales.

Sandi Hankowitz donated backing for the quilt. The relay theme is “Passport to a cure”. The team

will sell potholders at relay and members were asked to make some.

 

Terri Borchardt made a motion to adjourn the meeting, seconded by Bernie Macijunas.

 

Show and tell prize was won by Bernie Macijunas. Nametag prize was won by Darlene Carlson.

10:00 AM – auction begins, ending when all quilts are sold.

Free admission. Pre-Fest September 8, 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM and 5:00 PM - 8:00PM.

No quilt sales on Friday, but you can submit a silent bid. Pig roast, apple cider, pies,

pontoon rides, silent auction for theme baskets, kids fun area, demos, crafts, and bakery.
