In 800 a.d., the Sugya Clan was formed. The leader of this clan was Yoji Sugya. This clan, though newly formed was quite powerful, and was feared by the ruling Emperor, Kenji Tokanashi. To rid him self of the new threat, the Emperor hired an assassin to destroy the leader of the clan. However, the attempt was foiled when 12 yr old Alec Sorin, who was out playing where he wasn't supposed to be, somehow managed to accidentally expose the assassin, the details remain as yet unclear to this day how he did it. As a result, the leader, Yoji, made Alec an honourary member of the clan, but this joy was not to last long.
The Emperor, outraged at his assassins failure, sent another to kill the young boy. At the last moment, the Emperor decided to spare the boy, and instead, had all of his family, missionaries to the east, murdered, hoping to force the boy out of fudeal Japan.
Conesquently, Youji adopted Alec as his own son, along with his brother, Darian SOrin, his was only 10 yrs old, and was playing with Alec when the murders were commited. For many yrs, they were trained in the deadly and silent art of fighting, and magic. When Darain was 27, he left to study with powerful Celtic mages, as he showed an aptitude for magic use. Alec however, remained, and contiued to study the fighting arts of the ninja, both brother intent on finding the assassin who murdered thier parents.
The Sugya clan continued to grow in power and influence, overthrowing the Emperor, whom Alec personally destroyed, and setup a puppet government, and ruled Japan for more than a quarter of a century from behind the scenes, growing rich, and bringing peace by conquering thier foes in just a few short years through assassination, most carried out by Alec himself.
Then, betrayed by one of thier own, the Sugya clan was wiped out, save only Alec, Darain, and a few others. Upon the destruction of the clan, Darain returned, and him and Alec went into deep hiding, teaching each other what they had learned, both growing stronger year by year.
They reemerged, both powerful warriors, made immortal by the rune magic they both used. They both now seek the murderer of thier parents, and thier betrayer, believed to be the same person.
