Chapter 4

"Oh someone kill me," Latoya groaned at the porcelain bowl. She kneeled on her knees hugging the toilet bowl. She weakly flipped her dark brown hair over her shoulder and prayed for her stomach to stop rolling.

Someone knocked on the bathroom door, "Hey. Toya, you okay?" She couldn't answer; she was just that weak from retching. JC opened the door and found the 5'6" woman lying on the floor. "Okay so you're not fine."

"Duh," she pitifully rolled her eyes.

JC nodded and walked to the sink. He turned on the faucet and filled a glass with cold water. He also wetted a washcloth with cool water, rung it out and folded in half. "Done?" he asked the woman.

"I hope so," she muttered. She was three months pregnant and for the time being, not loving it. It seemed like everything made her nauseous. She had morning sickness all of the time.

"Here. To wash out your mouth," JC proffered the water filled glass. Latoya gladly accepted the water and swilled the liquid in her mouth and spat it into the toilet. She repeated the action twice and then chugged down the rest of the water. She placed the empty glass on the cream tile and held onto JC's hand to pull herself up. Her legs were wobbly so JC helped her steady herself.

She let out a little burp and placed her hand on her stomach, "I think that helped a bit. Excuse me." She smiled a little and the two walked to her bedroom. "So where's your worse half?" She asked as she situated herself on the king sized bed. The couple visited their friend since it was Sunday. They knew she would sleep the day away.

"He heard you retching. He said he's going to make something for you eat," JC informed her as he got into the bed next to her. She frowned at the thought of food and rubbed her slightly protruding tummy. "Let me see?" He asked about viewing the pregnant stomach.

Latoya lifted her t-shirt and showed her brown stomach. "Well nothing much to see there, you know." JC didn't seem to mind; he was enthralled and captivated with little bump on Latoya's middle.

He lightly patted the belly and whispered to their unborn child, "Hey there little one. You're making your Mommy throw up everything in sight. It'd be nice if you stop but your Daddy Justin would probably commend you," he chuckled. Latoya raised her middle finger in the air for the missing Justin while JC trailed his fingers over the bump in wonderment.

Justin nudged the door open, carrying a tray of crackers and three cans of ginger ale. "Hey, I see your saluting me. Great to know you love me," he smirked. "I got you something that you should be able to hold down. We'll all share." He set the tray down on the bedside table and felt Latoya's clammy forehead. "Well you aren't dying."

"Nope," she picked up a can and popped the top. "Thanks so much." She drank the soda as the other two men stared at her exposed belly and drank their sodas.

"You were talking to the baby, weren't you?" Justin smirked. JC nodded bashfully.

"Leave him alone. You shouldn't talk, Justin or I'll tell JC about your impromptu visits," she threatened and chewed onto a cracker.

"He makes visits?" JC inquired and raised an eyebrow.

"Does he visit?" she laughed out loud. "He should just move in. I had so many books and guides on how to feel and what to expect when expecting, I could own a damn library. But I know in Justin's way, he's done it out of love."

"Well you might need help. So I make sure that everything is okay," Justin tried to defend his actions.

"Whatever," she muttered and placed a hand on her stomach unconsciously.

"Aww," the couple cried out at the cute scene she made.

"Oh fuck you," she smiled.

Latoya and JC made their way into Dr. Jones's office. The two held hands and signed in. Today marked her fourth month. JC was ecstatic. He never went much with Latoya to her visits; Justin did since he was more available. But Justin went down to his mother's house for the weekend and JC made sure he had a cleared schedule today so he could go with Latoya.

"We're going to listen to its heartbeat." JC beamed with excitement.

"Yeah," Latoya patted his arm. "Calm down JC. Don't flip out in the office. It tends to make a bad impression."

"Oh hello Mrs. Timberlake," the nurse who attended the inseminations smiled at the two.

"Who in the hell is Mrs. Timberlake?" JC said through closed teeth.

"I've been telling this lady for over four months now that the only Mrs. Timberlake is Justin but she just doesn't listen." Latoya whispered back.

JC glanced at the nurse. "Oh."

"Where's Mr. Timberlake?" She smiled.

"Nosy broad," he whispered to his friend.

"I know," she mouthed and then looked at the nurse. "This is Mr. Timberlake," she told the nurse and held onto Josh's arm.

The nurse squinted her eyes at the two, not sure of the game that Mrs. Timberlake was playing. She knew the woman would walk into the office with a blonde man on her arm, not this slender brunette. Who did she think she was fooling? Probably didn't even know who her child's father was. It's a shame that these men actually fell in this whore's trap. The nurse turned her nose up and snootily said, "Hmmph."

"Is she giving me an attitude?" Latoya raised her eyebrow, as did JC.

"Let me show you to the examination room," she said coldly to the two and walked them to room.

As she turned to leave, JC made sure she heard him say, "Must be menopause." The nurse slammed the door on her way out.

"Nosy bitch," the two of them said at the same time and laughed together until the doctor came in.

"Well if it isn't one of my favorite patients, Latoya? Hello Joshua. How are you feeling Latoya? Any more morning sickness?" Dr. Jones placed her chipboard on the desk and smiled warmly at the younger woman.

Latoya scooted up onto the examination table and laid back, "Nope. But is it regular for me to be so big?"

"You're not big, Toya." JC quickly said. Her stomach was pleasantly swollen and she had this glow about her now but other than that she was the same Latoya.

"Yeah tell that to my clothes," she pouted. JC smiled to himself, when she acted like this she reminded him of Justin but he wasn't going to tell her. It would set her off.

"Well, Latoya, you are pregnant, so your stomach will expand."

"I know Doc but it's like I'm carrying a mini army in there. And no, I haven't had any more bouts of morning sickness in a week now. Thank God."

"Have you been taking your pills and exercising?" The doctor grabbed the tube of gel and the paddle for the sonogram.

"Yep. And after work I either take a walk or Justin will come up with fun things to do," she rolled her eyes, remembering the silly stretches Justin made her do one long afternoon. She lifted her shirt.

"So are we ready to see the baby."

"Yes. Yes. Yes." JC said. He was so excited that he nearly clapped his hands in anticipation.

The doctor spread the protective gel on Latoya's stomach and placed the paddle on her stomach. "Hmm, I hear a very strong heartbeat."

"Yeah it seems to echo, huh?" JC inquired. The heartbeat resounded loudly in the office. He and Latoya looked to the monitor screen, watching images of the unborn child.

"Hmm." The doctor brought the instrument to another section of stomach. "Just what I suspected."

"What? Oh my, the baby has three arms doesn't he? Is everything okay?" Latoya near panicked as thousands of thoughts bombarded her mind.

"No. Nothing like that. You are having twins. See, one head and two heads," she moved the instrument accordingly.

Latoya felt tears prick in her eye. She was going to have two little people in her arms in five months. She couldn't wait. JC, however, began to sway. "Twins? Like two babies? We're having two babies. Oh, wow." He zoned out. The world began to tilt and turned black. He fell to the floor.

"It figures." Latoya smiled and turned to look on the splayed man on the floor.

"That's wonderful, kid." Chris said into the phone. "You and Jace are going have two little mini-you's running around. I bet Latoya is ecstatic. How's she doing? Looking all pregnant and glowing? I bet she is, huh?"

Justin smiled. "Yeah. Two babies. You should have been here, Chris. JC fainted in the damn office when he heard. I wish I was there to see it. Oh and why don't you call Latoya and find out yourself?" Justin had a feeling he knew where Chris was going with this but wanted to hear the man say it on his own. "And I'm not a kid."

"Yes you are. And I called Toya yesterday and she wasn't there."

"You're lying. Me and JC were there all day to make her exercise. Lazy woman. Me and JC didn't leave until late because the stretching got us...aroused. So why didn't you call her?"

Chris ignored the last question. "I bet it did. You two are one of the horniest couples I've ever known. You could start eating a damn cracker and JC will grab you and hump you into no tomorrow."

"I know," Justin happily blushed and then turned serious. "But quit avoiding the subject. How long have you liked her?"
