Paula's Story

I am sad to say that I went to a local store here for three of my puppies and they all remained sick for a very long time. The first (my mastiff Murphy)I later found out I bought after he had been on a plane from the breeder for eleven hours, he hadn't been feed or vet checked or rested nothing!!!

They acted like they had been so connected with him, that he was so special to them and they were really going to miss him being there, since they had gotten SSSSOOOOO attached to him. I thought what a great place! To take such great care and bond so much with their animals! I even talked to the owner about how great everyone thought he was!!!

Come to find out my little Murphy had kennel cough but a form of it that resembles pneumonia and he nearly died, But in the mean time before I realized exactly how bad it was and it had progressed further and that was under a vets care, So I thought nothing of it allot of animals kept in cages together at a store can contract that close quarters and it only takes one to bring it in. So I had went back and purchased twin minpins from the same place I mean they are so great and Bond and Love their little angels....... unbeknownst to me that they were actually treacherous and swinging those dogs out without so much as a check up like they had a revolving door on the front of the place, My one min-pin had the same "COLD" and the other had stitches in his belly, when I asked why I was told he had a little issue with his belly button and that they popped it back in and it just took a stitch to fix it no big deal..........Later I found out that he had JUST had surgery two hours before I bought him off their floor and it was MAJOR hernia surgery!!!!!! And that is when I was able to snag Murphy's and the twins records from the store while my husband kept the owner talking and that is how I acquired the info but I had already bought all the dogs and there was NO WAY I was leaving them there with them. So it took six months for them to all heal and they all did really well. My littlest Min pin Vito who had been the one that had surgery passed away on New years day of this year, not because of anything to due with the he store but the pump on my pool cover broke and he drowned when I let him out. It was the worst way in the world to kick off the new year. God Rest his soul. Anyway.

The place has since been exposed for doing these such things to other people and other people have brought pets home with the "cold" and the pets died. I will say that everyone went home with antibiotics from that place. You buy a dog or a cat you got drugs with it. I had worked at a pet store growing up and NEVER did we do that, it should have been my first clue. After the news ran the story on them because they got so many complaints I wanted to see the impact the story would have on the store that is usually so crowed you can barely fit in the door. SAD to say that is was still quite crowded the day after the expose' and ALL the puppies that were still out to show had been "dosed out" and were ALL lethargic. and the back bins that sometimes have four or five dogs crammed together, were all the sudden empty. As I was checking out the dogs dry noses and red eyes the employees promptly ran over to me and asked me if I needed help? a task that normally You would have to stick a credit card straight up in the air in the crowd of people and push your way right into one of their faces to accomplish. And while there were still people there, probably more so just because they are in a mall so people kind of meander in and out, so there were still people in there after ward but no one was holding ANY of the puppies and NO ONE was buying one. It helped that the news kept showing it over and over all that day so since their name was OUT and seeing the animals laying there in that condition which was just heart breaking made me really wander how long it would all last? How long Will it hurt them? Forever I hoped.

They say there is no such thing as bad publicity, But for true animal lovers, names of such people and businesses tend to stick in our heads and pop up rather quickly when the purchase of an animal by someone else is being considered within our ear shot. And that is where the good comes in.

But out of everything that is the most amazing to me with what you went through and myself and others it just NEVER ever quite sinks in to me that no only do people knowing and purposely perform these horrendous acts, but so easily find allies to aide them in their journey!! It amazes me how many people are willing to aide others in the torturous acts of neglect against such fragile helpless little souls who can do nothing for themselves just like human babies. we have taken away their ability to fend for themselves making them rely on us for all their essentials so we can label them domesticated and then leave them to be bestowed in the hands of such wicked and undeserving human beings such as these cruel and detestable individuals. It really confirms that Evil does come in many forms and the lowest is that of a human that would care less at the thought of hurting or torturing a helpless child of ANY species for the almighty dollar. It is a sin against God and that is the only comfort I can seem to gain in all of this. I hope that you pursue getting their name out there in every way, shape and form for the vile human beings that they are. I would go so far as to share my story on Saturday afternoons with would be shoppers as I "window shopped" past their place.

I would call the news and the newspapers. And I would start a local organization against these types of acts such as you have and I would hand out flyers with permission from the mall local law enforcement whomever necessary or post them very close to their business. EVERYWHERE.

There is no law against that and no slander involved as it is all true and you are entitled to free speech and the right to promote your website. If you could just save one more little angel from the hell of just laying back there suffering with no medical care. to prevent it from EVER getting that far by forcing them to change their business practices, that is worth it. And You have others that you know that it happened to and the documentation to prove that carelessness and cruelty they exhibited in all your cases. the fact that they were going to offer two times the cost of her or whatever is irrelevant you already had a family member by then and you had to suffer through an emotional roller coaster that they could have prevented had they followed proper handling even if they found the pups in the paper from Joe smo they could have prevented all of them from becoming sick and Not only that if they had treated it from the get go the animals could have made it. But they chose to make faces at each other like idiots!!! All the while wasting valuable time and they KNEW IT!!. I had a dog fifteen years ago that made it through parvo. It is even more curable now. IF proper treatment is given. It was not.

I applaud you for not letting your angel pass in vein and for making Mckay's death stand for something. I hope the others that lost their little babies are too. Good luck in all you do and keep us all posted. Our prayers are with you. And we commend you.
