Into the Abyss: MIA
Chapter 15
Hope you like it....
And since I forgot to explain last time, Forge has white/blonde hair and hazel/green eyes.
He is a little older than Kali and the rest but only by a couple of years. He is also about 6
foot 3 inches.
I think that’s about it...
Kali frowned at Forge, “I assume since your ship was destroyed another vessel will be on
it’s way to check out what happened?”
“You are correct, Silver.” Forge replied with a grin. He was openly checking her out. She
ignored him.
“In that case we should leave. We don’t want to be caught here and cause the Priestesses any undue trouble.” Melian reasoned. She was watching her brother carefully. He was hiding behind a mask of indifference but she wasn’t fooled.
Kali nodded. Everyone turned to leave when Eyrk stopped them. “I believe he should
come with us.” he pointed towards a surprised Forge.
Melian looked at her son like he had grown another head, “Why do you say that Eyrk?”
“Because when the Hunter ship comes it is logical that they will try and follow us. If they
catch up to us, we will need something to bargain with. So to speak.”
Forge looked totally shocked at such intelligent words coming from a 6 year old. “What
do they feed you kid?”
Lania shrugged, “He does have a point, Kali.” Kali nodded, “All right then. Didrika, with
your consent we would like to take a Hunter with us.”
Didrika thought they were all crazy for listening to a six year old. But she wasn’t going to
argue.
After being led out of the cell Forge was escorted to M.I.A., and the brig. Dyro and Jared
went ahead of the others to prepare M.I.A. and make sure Forge was secure. The twins
tagged along as well.
Didrika and Kali disappeared for a moment and returned. Kali was the same while Didrika
was glowing and smiling widely. “Ayana, come with me please. I shall have her back to
you before you take off.” She assured them.
Melian, Lania and Kali returned to the ship. Dyro was in the food room with the twins.
Jared was on the main deck. The three woman made their way there. By the time they
arrived Dyro had joined them. The twins, he said, had gone to bed. They had told him that
they were tired.
Ayana arrived a few minutes later with a small bundle in her arms. She had the biggest
smile on her face. She launched herself at Kali,
“THANKYOUTHANKYOUTHANKYOUSOMUCHKALI!!!” she shouted happily.
“I’m going to go change!”
Everyone looked at Kali as Ayana flew out the door. She looked at them curiously,
“What? All I did was ask Didrika to make her a P.I.T.(Priestess-in-training).”
Melian shook her head, “Now were never going to hear the end of it from her. Who is
going to teach her though?”
“I will. Razi gave me the necessary tools and information disks.”
Lania smiled, “As glad that I am that you did that Kali. I think it’s time we left.”
“Of course, MIA. Once we have cleared Zion completely prepare to Jump.”
“Yes, Kali.” The floating sphere spoke from beside her before going over and settling in
it’s port.
After Jumping everyone had just unbuckled when a unexpected voice came from the
doorway. “Damn, this is some ship.” Everyone turned to see Forge. Standing with Eyrk
and Katina beside him.
“What the hell?!” Jared exclaimed. “How did you get out?”
Forge smiled widely and ruffled Eyrk’s hair, “Little squirts let me out. Said I should be a
crew member. Not a prisoner.”
Everyone stared incredulously at the boy. Katina spoke up which was a shock since she
almost never did when her brother was there to do it for her. “Besides, we demonstrated
what we would do to him if he tried anything.”
Melian became a mother in an instant, eyes narrowed and hands on her hips. “What are
you talking about?”
Katina smiled lightly, “We found out what the colours on our tails mean.” Without being
told both twins held there hands up about a foot apart from the other. Forge quickly
moved over near the others. “Surprised me when they did it, that’s for sure.” They both
closed there eyes and light, the same colour as there tails arched from between there
hands. Katina’s was red, Eyrk’s was blue.
Nobody said anything for a moment. Until Kali spoke, “Lania, why don’t you take these
two down to the Infirmary and run some tests. Maybe this new...development will give
you some sort of insight.” Lania left with the twins without another word. Dyro followed
to give her a hand.
Kali then turned to Forge. “Do you plan on attacking us?” He was walking around the
deck, checking out the consoles.
“No reason too. It’s not likely I would get very far. You’ve got those kids with the tails.
Then there’s Mr. Silent here. And you Sliver. I’d be pretty stupid to bother trying. And in
case your wondering I don’t have much loyalty to the Hunter’s. So it’s not like I want to
go back.”
Kali nodded slowly. “I’m going to trust you for now Forge. But you make one wrong
move, back you go.” He nodded. Kali looked at Melian, “Think you could make another
communicator?” Melian grinned, “Like you have to ask. I have a couple spares in my
room. I can get one for him and then show him the ship.” Kali agreed.
When it was just Jared and Kali he turned to her, “Do you think this is a good idea?” Kali
shrugged, “I’m not sure why. But I do trust him. And the twins trust him. And they have
always been good at judging people.” Jared nodded grudgingly, he still intended on
keeping a close eye on the Hunter.
So, what did you think of that? Please let me know.
