Chapter 14
Here we go again, another chapter...enjoy.

Razi came in with a pensive look on her face. “High Priestess, we have been attacked.
Four are dead, thirteen wounded.”
Didrika’s voice was instantly cold and demanding, “Who has attacked us?”

Razi was somber but the fury in her eyes more than made up for it, “We don’t know. The
attacker seems to have some sort of cloaking device that our sensors cannot see. It’s very advanced. They lowered it only long enough to fire. Then it went back up again. Since it was a surprise there was no time to ID the vessel.”
Another Priestess walked hurriedly into the room, the door was still open from Razi’s
entrance. “We have been attacked again! It was a transporter of P.I.T.’s coming back from a field test. At this time there are no survivors.” The Priestess bowed and turned away, before nearly flying out the room. She did not want to be around when Didrika’s temper went off.
Didrika, although livid, spoke with a worried tone, “How can we fight something we can’t
see?”
“M.I.A. may be able to pick them up. She is suppose to be very technologically advanced.” Eyrk spoke from his place beside Kali. He and his sister had stood up and went to stand beside her unnoticed.
Didrika raised an eyebrow at Kali questioningly, “Could your ship do this?”
Kali looked unsure, “I don’t know. Let me check.” Kali closed her eyes. Didrika looked at
her like she had a screw loose.
Eyrk spoke up before anyone else could and explained. “Kali-mama is connected to our
ship through a metal disk that was place at the base of her spine. She is checking M.I.A.’s
abilities.”
Didrika looked more than a little disbelieving until she got conformation nods from Jared
and Lania.
Kali’s eyes opened slowly, “MIA isn’t sure. We can certainly try though. M.I.A. will need
to be in open space to conduct such a search.”
Didrika nodded her acceptance and turned to Razi, “Show them back to their ship. And
clear them for immediate launch. Then ready three of our own attack ships. I don’t want
any more people injured.”
Everyone left quickly, Didrika included. She was going to the main deck of the large ship.
She wanted to see everything that happened.
Kali and the other’s quickly launch MIA and prepared her for a fight. Ayana, and the twins
were also on the main deck, although they were near the door and made sure to keep out of the way.
“Shields up, 100%.” Dyro spoke allowed.
Lania nodded, “Scanners are picking up a large mass about 3 clicks from here. It could be
them.”
Kali sighed, “Lets go there then. MIA, stealth if you please.”
“Yes, Kali.” MIA’s computer created voice came from overhead. The lights dimmed until
there was nothing but the consoles and main screen lit up.
“Everything is charged and loaded, Kali.” Jared monotoned from his position. Kali didn’t
bother to acknowledge him. She knew that she didn’t need too.
MIA was quickly joined by the three Priestess ships Didrika asked for. They kept close
radio contact so they could react against the enemy ship as quickly as possible.
Everyone was silent for a moment before Dyro spoke up, “They lowering the cloaking
shield, there going to attack!”
Kali looked towards Jared, “Any interesting weapons that you want to try? Perhaps
something that will take out the cloaking device?” Jared gave her a rather evil grin as he
sent a missile towards the now visible vessel. It hit dead on before the enemy was even
able to fire one shot.
“They are incapacitated, Kali! Everything but life support is shutting down. And that
won’t last for long either. Just enough time to get prisoners.”
Kali smiled at Lania’s triumphant speech. She contacted one of the Priestess vessels.
“Would you be so kind as to go collect our playmates and see what they were up too?”
The Priestess who answered grinned in response, “Glad to Priestess Kali. Please feel free
to return to Zion with the other two ships. Mine will follow shortly.” Kali nodded and
severed the connection.
Upon arrive on Zion the crew of M.I.A. was met with a very please High Priestess.
“Amazing! I have never seen a fight end so quickly! Where did you get the ship of yours?”
Lania and Dyro looked sheepish. Kali gave a small cough, “Let’s just say that, we found
it.” Ayana held in a giggle at the thought, she having been told the story several times.
Didrika led them to the holding cells at the bottom level of Zion. Sitting in two cells, and
looking very grumpy was the entire crew of a Hunter ship. They were all glaring at any
Priestess who happened to walk by. Melian immediately hung back and refused to go any
closer. The twins and Ayana stayed with her, but the rest of them walked right up to the
cell doors.
A priestess stepped up to them and bowed to Didrika and Kali. “They have spoken freely.
It seems that they were testing out a new cloaking device given to them by a ‘business
partner’. We have towed there ship back here and we are now striping it of anything that
might prove useful to us.”
One of the Hunters snorted. He looked up to make a snide remark but stopped and stared at Kali.
She gave him a glare, “What’s your problem?”
The Hunter’s eyes widened and he muttered, “OF course. Of ALL the people...damn
fools.”
Didrika looked sharply at him. “Speak up! What are you saying?”
The Hunter stood, “I’m Forge. The captain of this crew. And she,” He jerked his head in
the direction of Kali. “Is on our Priority list.”
“Why?” Melian asked, she had come closer. Her curiosity getting the better of her.
Forge did a double take, it seemed he recognized her as well. “Silver here,” Another
glance at Kali, “is wanted, ‘safe and unharmed’ by several very rich people back in normal
space. Every Hunter ship out there is on the lookout for her.”
“Shut up Forge!” Another Hunter stood, “They don’t have to be told everything!”
Forge rolled his eyes, “Why bother keeping quiet, Trenton? Were dead anyhow.
Priestesses don’t release prisoners, ya moron.”
Trenton growled and sat back down.
Forge sighed and looked over at the stunned, confused, and pissed off Kali. “There is a
VERY large and enticing bounty on your head Silver. I’d watch yourself if I were you.”
