Personality:
Iris is very calm and serene, though every so often she will do something insane impulsively. She is extremely quiet and more or less anti-social. The witch dedicates her life to Healing, her animal companions, and her daughter. Recently she has turned partly insane, and has been Turned into a Vampire. When feeding, she will usually have no mercy.
Appearance:
The girl is about six feet tall and stick thin, extraordinary for a woman of these times, with a dramatically white complexion, dark blue eyes, and jet black hair that falls to her waist [usually woven with dozens of tiny bells which tinkle when she moves]. Iris almost always wears a sleeveless black shift which falls to her ankles, and her feet are bare. When she feeds, her eyes become silvery-grey, her teeth grow into fangs, and her body becomes the wild figure of a huntress. She always wears a necklace depicting a unicorn trapped in a vine, a black beaded friendship bracelet on her left wrist, and a sapphire ring on her right hand.
History:
The femme was born seventeen years ago to a large family, consisting of nine boys before her. She was the youngest, and christened Hope Makin [Hopeful Warrior] by her parents. Her father was abusive, her mother weak, and her mother was killed by her father when the child was but five years of age. Her father then turned her brothers on her, and they beat her regularly. When she was twelve, Hope found a babe in her bedroom, and fell in love with her immediately. Knowing her home was no safe place for the child to be, she gave the baby to Galen, an old travelling Healer. Two years later, Hope ran away from home and renamed herself Iris Moonshadow (Moonshadow being her mother's maiden name) and went in search of the Healer. For one year she went to many places - the desert, amongst others unknown. This was the year she found Smoke, her kitten who is ever by her side. A year after she left home, Iris found the Healer once more and spent twelve months or so with Galen and the child, who was now three years old and went by the name of Lily. Iris fell in love with Galen's son, Gathal, and got engaged to him. Several months later, he was killed in battle, and as a result Iris left Galen and Lily at the next town they stopped at - Dae Luin. After several months (during which she painfully found out - at her wedding - that her fiancee had been courting another woman behind her back), Iris decided to go and find Lily. When she returned with the girl, Dae Luin had become Everbane, and the witch thought all her troubles over. But she was to experience yet another dishonest fiancee and her daughter running away before now. Now she is a Healer in Althea D'Jal as well as Follower of Life, and extremely happy now that her daughter has returned to her. She has also found a few of her childhood friends, and for a while was generally happy. However, recently she became partly insane, and was Turned into a Vampire by Hinode.
