Shelly's Untitled
by Michelle Wallbank
There once was a little girl
Who asked for many things.
Like ponies, and lots of toys,
And golden diamond rings.
She was rich, that greedy girl
Got only what she wanted.
And one night she had a scare,
'Cause she was being haunted.
"You greedy, selfish little child,"
Said the angry, scary ghost.
"You do not share or give to others
You get what you want most."
This little girl got so upset,
A tear rolled down each cheek.
She sat and cried through all the day,
That day turned to a week.
The ghost came back so very soon
To stay there for a while.
This angry, scary ghost was only there
To try to make her smile.
The ghost began to talk to her,
Said, "Just share some of your toys,
Then everyone will be your friend,
All the girls and boys."
She laughed and smiled.
So very sweet at this "scary" ghost,
She said, "Thanks for all your help
Now I know what I want most."
She went outside to find some kids
That would maybe be her friends.
She went up and down through all the streets,
And down all the dead ends.
She soon found kids playing ball,
She asked if she could play.
Very soon the kids were friends
As they still are today.
