Its a vast forest range covering Mt. Nebo, Mt Glorious, Mt Samson etc.
We over look Brisbane Forest Park, its our back garden.
There are some beautiful spots to stop for picnics or BBQ's, many of
which have picnic tables and BBQ facilities available.
As you drive up Mt Nebo Road away from The Gap, you will pass the
headquarters for the park. Its worth a quick stop to take a walk
round the centre. For about $3 an Adult there is a small wildlife
park, great for the kids. The restaurant above
Walk about creek has
fantastic rain forest views and a great menu too. Stop here also
for information on anything to do with the rain forest, local wildlife,
camping, fire restrictions and guided bush walks.
Further up Mt Nebo Road there is
Brisbane's Vineyard.
We stopped here on one of our trips up the mountain and had a great
reception. We were given a tour of the vineyard and the
accommodation along with a great choice of wines, ice cream
liquors and (my favorite) alcoholic ginger beers to try. I'd
recommend a stop!
