If you want to learn about the basics of a computer, a great place to start is How Stuff Works. If you are interested in learning about almost anything, just go to their Home Page. They have information on so many topics, you may be impressed.
Many problems with a PC are simply a problem with the driver. A great place to get a new driver is at Driver Guide. You will need to register. Registration is free.
This is one of the best things you can do to protect your computer. Never follow instructions in an email saying to delete a file because it is a virus. Many PC problems are created by well meaning people forwarding such emails to their friends and family. All legitimate emails of this type will have a link to reputable sites. There you will see an explanation of what the virus is and whether or not it is an actual virus. The links in the email will direct you to well known anti-virus companies, such as Norton or McAfee. Another good neutral source to find info concerning virus and hoax info is Vmyths. An additional source for Urban Legends and hoaxes is Snopes. Do your friends a favor. Check with one of these sites before you forward the emails.
