The Meaning of Poetry

Poetry is a song in my heart
that longs to be heard.
Poetry is the deepest secrets
of my soul that
needs to be said.
Poetry is the expression of
everything I hold dear
within my soul,
when spoken words are not said.
Poetry is the pen that writes
the words to let me be heard.
Poetry is the mood I am in.
Poetry is a picture drawn,
within imagination,
but can only be seen
by the words on the screen.
Poetry is art in another form.
Poetry is the real person
that I am.
