I had heard and read tales of tight security, but had no problem with the DAT down the pants. The audience was an eclectic mix of old male forty-something fogies and lots of lesbians (not that there's anything wrong with that - just left me rather tongue-tied :-p) and waify wives with wispy layers of gauze bandanas. Which sort of clashed with the endless glow of cell phones (during the intermission between sets, one could text message a number and see their "I luv Stevie!!" message appear on the big screen). I went with my wife because she like Stevie Nicks and because she always affords me the opportunity to go see anyone I want. I didn't expect much, having stopped listening to the Eagles when Joe Walsh left, and Fleetwood Mac when Peter Green left. (I'm one of those old forty-something fogies). I was surprised at how good the show was. The entire audience was l ooking to the rear of the venue for someone or something during the opening notes of "Hotel California". I think we thought Joe Walsh was going to come out of the crowd and join Don. Alas and alack, it was only Stevie, and she came from the wings. (Just like a one-winged dove, as my sister-in-law would say). "Boys of Summer" - one of the perfect driving down the parkway too-fast songs, was particularly good. The opening intro for Rhiannon was very poiognant, and "Edge of Seventeen" kicked major ass, but for me, the highlight of Stevie's set was the sad and beautiful "Beauty and the Beast" played to the accompaniement of a video. My wife, who is better schooled in her songs, thought "Gold Dust Woman" was the killer. The lesbians favored "Stop Draggin' My Heart Around. You pays your money and you takes your chances. Recorded by Zackman from half way back on the floor, slightly stage right. I had a nice column behind me which camoulflaged the gear, and meant for one less row of noisy lesbians to contend with. Core Sound Binaurals > Sony PCM1 > optical link > Phillips STand alone. No eq, no nr, so shit, Shirlock. while transferring to CD, I missed entering the track marker between Hotel Cal and NY Minute - call it a bi-coastal moment in honor of the lesbians. The trac was subsequently split into 4 and 4a using Gold Wave. This show fits on two cd's if you put the encore (Don didn't do one) at the end of Disc one - that's how it's laid (in honor of the old fogies who got lucky on the not-fast-enough ride home) here. Enjoy
