THE FIREMEN

The flames shoot up, into the sky,
The alarms sound, this time it’s our side.

Into boots and gear that are waiting,
Onto trucks we climb there is no debating.

With sirens blaring, we race down the street,
Getting ready the hoses that lay at our feet.

Hanging on for dear life as we take corners fast,
Hoping and praying this fire isn’t our last.

For we are who we are, running into the heat,
Taming fire after fire and they’re not easy to beat.

Running into the flames when everyone else runs out,
That’s the name of the game, what our life is all about.

We save lives every time we can,
We can’t save them all, but we work hand in hand.

Teamwork is key we work strong together,
More than just friends, we are all brothers.

So call on us, we’ll keep the fires at bay,
This is what we do, each and every day.

The Fire Truck

Around the corner as fast as I can,
Move over, move over

Got to beat down flames with water again,
Move over, move over

Sirens blaring as I roll down the streets,
Move over, move over

Air horn honking to speed up pedestrians feet
Move over, move over

Coming to a stop with a screech of the brakes,
Move over, move over,

Unloading fireman I’ll do whatever it takes,
Move over, move over

To get this fire out, cause lives are at stake,
Move over, move over

Get out of the way cause here I come,
Move over, move over,

I’m the fire truck I’m not here for fun,
Move over, move over

For fireman assistance I’m number one
Move over, move over

The Smoke Eaters

Walking through the flames,
Shouting out for people with unknown names,
Breaking down doors with an axe,
Always waiting for that dreaded blast.

Carrying people twice their size,
Heroes of many, their uniforms their only disguise.
Dragging water filled hoses,
Breathing through masks over their noses.

Avoiding heat and falling debris,
Searching the wreckage for you or me,
Heroes of many with little or no thanks,
Take pride in those that join their ranks.

Firefighters fighting fire till its done,
Save em all leave behind no one.
Running into where few others dare,
Saving lives because they care.
