


Construction of a modern home on campus
is a current highlight of this course. Along with many other in-shop
project, we do community projects such as storage buildings, garages,
etc. As an integral part of building construction technology the
masonry portion is designed to assist students in learning another
major portion of Construction.

Building Trades/Masonry I
Hand tools; use of power equipment;
building materials; framing including floor, wall and roof; cornice
construction; roof coverings. Masonry includes bricklaying, block
laying, plastering, concrete, tile, drywall-taping, form building,
blueprint reading, material estimation, and labor duties.

Building Trades/Masonry II
Blueprint reading, insulation applications,
window and door construction, interior ceiling and wall finish,
cabinet making, molding and millwork, and stair construction.
Masonry includes reviewing and reinforcing first learning. Work
on real projects in the areas covered in Masonry I.
