Kal's Page

This is a page about Kal, leave now if you are easily frightened by big words or things that make you think, please leave now, by going to www.youareanidiot.com. I don't think that's really a site, but that's besides the point. I'm basically the main runner of the page, because Chris is lazy and offensive and Matt-O-Mac only has access to the internet once a week (although he has a chance to update every day at school, some time or another. Don't deny it!).

My life is a pathetic obsession of music, and I am well versed in guitar and whatnot. But ask me if I've heard that cool new R&B/Rap song... and I'll slit your throat. Ask around. I will. Seriously. Anyways, I like rock and others of the same branch. I believe that I'm one of the few people around (in our grade at least) that really appreciates and understands music. And by understanding, I don't mean being able to interpret what a song says (and usually, you can tell before you listen to it what it's about... se*... dru**... alc****...). I mean... I don't know what I mean. I can't explain it. Just trust me on this one. But my belief is that Rap is actually rock... just without the talent. Yes, any form of rap whatsoever has less talent than... BLINK 182! I know, I know. Let's not say things we can't take back. But... those three little dots are certainly helping this one sided conversation out (I know what a one-sided conversation is and that this isn't one, I'm just using the term, as it would fit to this type of article). How can people say that rock & roll is the devil's music, and then see the rappers singing "I'll fuck your dog, I'll fuck your mom! I'll kill your dog, I'll kill your mom! I'll fuck your dead dog, I'll fuck your dead mom!" and say "hey, cool! talking to an overused drumbeat!". I know. Sad but true. But I think that if suddenly everyone hated rap and loved rock, rock wouldn't be that cool anymore, and I'd have to find some new (or really old) music that nobody likes, and live in peace with it. But think of this. One of my most convincing arguements is; Look back to the 70's. What was big? Disco. And what does everybody hate now? Disco. Look at the 80's. What was big? That cheesy retro synthesizer sound, ugly girls, and ugly clothes. And what does everybody hate now? That cheesy retro synthesizer sound, ugly girls, and ugly clothes. And what has become the things you remember about each decade 60's - 80's? Rock & Roll, baby! You rappers wouldn't ever admit it (but if you would, you are just such a poseur of any poseur you see), but rap is soon gonna be disco and synthesizers. People will look back and say "Mommy, how come you liked the silly people swearing and tough guys who beat you once you marry them?" "Well honey, that was just the thing to do back then." But Smells Like Teen Spirit will be a staple of Rock history for as long as there is rock history. Well, I'm done, maybe I'll put more on soon.
