False Evange: Why We Hate Macs
From Student Protest Against Macintosh
Debunked by Darwincore

Pricing -- An $800 Gateway is twice as fast as a $1500 PowerMac, and the PowerMac doesn't even include a monitor. But no, Apple doesn't overprice their products...

Well lets see, the mac is faster, runs a better OS. You can stop comparing the pro macs to the home pcs. For $1,000 you can buy an emac. Much better deal I think. And the twice as fast thing? I think not dude, mghz myth....

Compatibility -- When it comes to software compatibility (especially games), the PC wins, no questions asked. Very few games are compatible with Macs; just ask any hardcore computer gamer. There are many Mac users who have an extra PC for the sole purpose of game playing.

Actually lots of games are for the mac, and with a mac you can run all those free linux applications with FINK.

The Dock Bar -- If you're gonna copy off of the Start Menu, at least do it right. There are several disadvantages to the Dock Bar. Its size, location, and usability problems are just a few.

Don't start me on copying, who stole their first OS agian? I perosnally like the dock.

File Backups -- XP offers a backup utility so you can select files to back up, and select a destination for the backup. You can back up to external media, you can schedule automatic backups, and you can restore from your backups. With OS X, you have to pay for a .Mac account in order to be able to back up files.

There are cheaper disk utilites for the mac, and I will have too look into, I never back up, I have no need(werid my computer doesn't crash and mess up like that) but I think OSX might be able to do that, not sure however.

Extra Costs -- One of the biggest misconceptions made by Mac users is that when you buy a PC, you have to fork over hundreds of extra dollars because "Microsoft makes you buy a bunch of extra stuff." I find that odd, because I haven't had to pay a dime extra since I bought my PC, nor have any of my PC using friends. Instead, it's the other way around; once you've paid the thousand some odd dollars for the Macs itself, you have to shell out another thousand or two for the monitor, and if you want "premium services" with .Mac, that's another $99.00. Did I mention they don't come with a floppy drive?

My friend, all macs but the powermac line come with moniters... and I don't use .Mac, and no, I don't need a floppy.

Ease of Use -- When it comes to ease of use, Windows XP tops the charts. Not only does it have a layout that's easily understood, the OS includes a comprehensive help database to assist you, and programs to help you with everything from networking to CD burning to installing new programs; something that is yet to be seen in OS X.

Umm yea.. I use windows too you know, its not that easy, however OSX is, and yes OSX has a help database too(why would it be consider extra?) How often do you use a mac dude? To burn a cd for me I put it in, drag the files onto the CD icon and then select burn....... not really that hard. Ease of use is the key point of the switch comericals..

Those annoying Switch commercials -- 'nuff said

Ok right, that flamish butterfly is sooo much cooler.

Accessibility -- Yet another set of tools that OS X lacks. These niceties help those with seeing or hearing problems enjoy the Windows XPerience. The on-screen keyboard, magnifier, and narrator are just a few of the many functions designed to help those with disabilities. Even if you don't have any seeing or hearing problems, these features can enhance your web-browsing experience (i.e. reading hard-to-read text on web pages, etc.).

Ever use a mac?
