I don't like Mac because...

There are no games for Macintosh.

If you go to a computer store and browse the games section you will find that the vast majority of the games are for Windows only, which is why this misconception was started in the first place. The majority of Mac games are downloaded from the web. Even if the game developers do not release a Mac version, which is happening less and less often, some geek somewhere will make a Mac version himself. Actually, percentage-wise there are probably more games exclusively for Mac than there are exclusively for Windows.

Very few people use Macintosh.

If you're an accountant, you're most likely surrounded by beige Wintel boxes. But if you work in nearly every creative field, you most likely use a Mac. Like in graphic arts (99% of graphic artists use Mac), advertising and publishing. Or in Hollywood. Or in science-based industries like biotech. Or in education, where half of the computers are Apples. Or if you are President of the United States (our two most recent presidents, a Democrat and a Republican, both use Macs). Even 25% of America's lawyers use Macs. In all, over 25 million people use Macs in their homes, offices and schools every day and more than half of the web pages you encounter are Mac-made.

Apple is about to die.

People have claimed that Apple is about to die for ten years. Whenever Apple is reported to have any sort of success there is also a catch that comes with it. This is because journalists (the people reporting this success) are mostly PC users, and like the rest of the incredibly ignorant Windows community, they are generally uninformed about Apple's overall progress.

Everyone says Apple is doomed because of its small market share (total computer market share is 5% while personal computer market share is 11%), but market share is not all that important anyway. The PC companies, Intel, Dell, Hewlett Packard have market shares that exceed Apple's, yet it is the profits that they are not pulling in (thanks to each other, the magic of Linux, and partially Apple).

Want proof? Think about this: With all those companies, including Microsoft, competing with Apple, why is Apple still around? They've said Apple is about to die for over ten years. If it was about to die all that time don't you think a huge corporation such as Microsoft would have made it do just that? This also proves that Apple is extremely successful. What other corporation could go head-to-head with Microsoft and survive so easily?

Microsoft is successful because it has tricked people into using its products while Apple is more successful for surviving the wrath of such a huge corporation and getting people to use its quality products.

Macs only have one mouse button.

First of all, this is no reason to dislike a platform. Macs are easy to use and don't really require two buttons. However, having a roller and a right button does come in quite handy. Right now I'm using a Microsoft mouse (ironic, eh?). Although the company can't put out a solid operating system, it can sure make good mice.

When I bought the mouse it came with a disk that had a bunch of installation software on it. Although I knew I probably needed to install it, my years of Mac experience told me to just plug it in. And what d'ya know, it worked! I haven't even touched the disk. Turns out the software is only required for Windows.

Now that's plug-and-play, baby!
