No CD!
With this, you can run C&C95 right off of your computer...No CD required! If your C&C is in the same folder as mine -
"C:\Westwood\C&C95"
- create a directory under it and call it CDROM. It will now be this:
"C:\Westwood\C&C95\CDROM"
Now, go to your game CD (not the hard drive, the one the disk goes in). In this directory, copy all the .MIX files from your game CD except for the large MOVIES.MIX file. You can copy it, but it will only take up space if you only play online. All you have to do if you don't have movies is just restate the mission and it will tell you what to do. Now, create another directory under CDROM called AUD1 and copy SPEECH.MIX into this directory. Now all you have to do is create a batch file. Copy these two lines of code, and name the .txt file C&C95.bat.
CD C:\GAMES\C&C95
C&C95.EXE -CDC:\GAMES\C&C95\CDROM
Now, if you can't follow these instructions, e-mail me!
Trainer Help!
Ok, you can use the trainer anytime. While playing a mission, if you feel the need to cheat, just minimize the game screen (press Alt+Tab simultaniously), turn on the cheat/cheats that you want, then maximize the game screen. The cheats should now be enabled!
C&C MAP Help!
C&CMap is a bit tricky. It requires a bit of knowledge about the computer. First, make a new folder on your desktop. Name it CCMap. Next, download C&CMap into the folder. Now, go to your game CD (not the hard drive, the drive you put the CD in), and copy these files to the CCMap folder that you JUST made:
Conquer.mix
Winter.mix
Desert.mix
Temperat.mix
NOW! Right-click on the C&CMap.exe file, and on the pop-up, select properties, and click on the program tab at the top. You will see a CMD line, and will want to put this in it:
C:\DESKTOP\Map\CCMAP.EXE>CCmap 'mapnamehere'
Where it says 'mapnamehere', don't put the ''s, and fill in mapnamehere with either Winter.mix, Desert.mix, or Temperat.mix. After making your map, you MUST save the map as something other than Winter, Desert, or Temperat. Otherwise, next time you open the file, it will be the map you made and not a blank scenario. If you want to use already made maps (Green Acres, Tiberian Garden, etc.), you will have to extract them out of the General.mix with Mixman -- but THAT's another tutorial!
