Epilouge

Shadows from the setting sun danced around Robyn’s beautiful figure as I watched her sleep beside me. When dusk finally fell I got up. I pulled on my boxers and walked over to the window. The view from it showed the city, and it’s bright lights beginning to turn on. I stared lost in thought, losing track of time.

I didn’t even hear Robyn get up and put her robe on. I felt her terry cloth covered arms wrap around my bare stomach, and her chin rest on my shoulder. “What are you thinking about?” she asked.

“I didn’t know it was possible to feel this content, yet so empty at the same time,” I admitted to her.

She turned and faced me. “Are you happy?” she asked.

I nodded. “This pain in my heart, it’ll never go away completely. But it will ease; it has already started. And I’m happy to have you to help.”

“I won’t leave you again” she whispered.

“I know, thank you” I said softly.
