I was born Sonika Simone Penn on the beautiful Island of St. Thomas, Virgin Islands. This glorious day was September 30, 1975 and from that day my mom knew I had a mind of my own. She soon learned if I didn't want something you can count on me to make it known. She told me that I would even throw my bottles out of the crib because I never liked milk. To this day I still don't like it.
This trait of determination and stubbornness has been both a blessing and a curse. It's helped me to achieve the things I want most in my life but some things are not meant to be and these traits make that hard to deal with.
I moved away from the Virgin Islands six years ago when the University of the Virgin Islands just wasn't giving me what I needed to complete my education. I moved to Virginia and this is where I believe my life began. I did and I'm still doing a lot of growing, maturing, and learning about myself and those around me. I am now 27 yrs old and finally realizing what I want from my life.
With these realizations I am better able to say that my likes are:
anything that makes me happy...whether it's a sunny day or phone call from a friend...or just sleeping in bed all day without interruption from my nephews.
My dislikes are: people that are fake and get everything they want out of life by using other people...rainy days....and conflicts. I'm a peace maker at heart and like to see everyone happy. I'm generally a happy person and always look for the best in every situation. Some people take my niceness as weakness, but if I'm crossed people learn not to underestimate me because I can stand up for myself.
I may be going into too much detail for some but if anyone is to truly know me this is the only way I know how. Hopefully after reading this everyone will at least have a general idea of the complex person that I am. If not well I tried.
