Honey Custard French Toast

1/2 cup honey
1 cup milk
6 eggs
1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/8 tsp. salt
12 slices french bread, about 3/4" thick
1 T. butter
honey (optional)
toasted pecan pieces (optional)


In a large, shallow bowl, beat together honey, milk, eggs, cinnamon, salt. Dip bread slices in egg mixture, turn to coat. Heat some butter in a frying pan over medium heat. Cook, bread 1-2 minutes on each side until browned. Serve french toast with more honey, sprinkled with pecans.
