MOST EMBARASSING MOMENT:
|
I wasn’t playing for the Quins then and my
uncle Robert asked me to play on a Sunday because they were short. I
rushed out to South Parade changed and run onto the field as the game
kicked off. The ball came straight to me and I ran from just outside our
own 22’, handing off players and breaking through tackles. All the
time I could hear the crowd booing, even when I scored a seventy-five
yarder they were hurling abuse at me. Then I realised – we were
playing a game against the boys with physical and learning difficulties
from Waterton Wanderers.
