Not far from Angouleme, Bordeaux and the Atlantic coast, Les Marechaux is built on the side of a a hill in the heart of the Pineau wine-making area.
The imaginitive use of local oak and pine, combined with the original stone walls, has transformed this old Charentais barn into a unique house of distinctive natural charm. A Venetian-style balcony on the first floor overlooks an internal courtyard with a fountain and a delightful raised terrace - perfect for dining al fresco and taking in the spectacular views of the vineyards and sunflower fields below. The garden is on several levels and a vine covered pergola separates the lower terrace from the attractive oval swimming pool.
The area is rich in antiquities, grottos and Renaissance fortifications, and only a short drive away from all the fun of the seaside.
