Learning To Fly
Looking down from
a tremendous height the view terrified him but even more frightening was the
suddenly malevolent glare of his mother. Robin edged away from her but she
gave him a quick push that sent him hurtling downward. He flailed wildly
and, astonishingly, began to slow his descent. In the wink of an eye he was
safe on the ground. Observing the world from this new perspective, he was
amazed and entranced. He gazed up at his mother and saw only sadness now.
Turning his back on her, he flew away.
