Halloween Foosball accomplishments
James Ostis has played a key role in each and every halloween foosball tournament, although he unfortunately has never won it all....yet.
Depsite being one of the co-founders of the tournament, James withdrew from the first ever finals, opting to watch the World Series instead. It has been said that James has been cursed since then, as his two brothers have each made finals appearances, while Jim had been eliminated in the semi-finals each time. In 2001, however, Jim finally made his way back to the finals, where he ultimately lost to Greg in a thrilling climax to the event.
In 1996, Jim beat The Legendary Chuck in the beginning of Chuck's legendary career. He then beat Brice in the semi finals. But instead of facing Greg, he watched a world series "the biggest mistake I ever made in Foosball history".
In 1997, Jim went into the tournament with the title "the only person who never lost in 1996" (alluding to the controversial finals between Pat and Greg, that still hasn't been discussed in official circles since '97.) He got a bye and beat Pat, ("defending the honor of cats everywhere" including at the time, Heather Higson, sister of the Infamous James Higson) but then was shocked by Steve.
In 1998, 1999, and 2000, Jim played 3 games and went 2-1 each year, making it to the semi finals each time.
In 2001, Jim defeated Jon Casserly and avenged his 1998 loss to his brother Nicky en route to a big semi-finals rematch with Corey Pinkham. Jim shocked Corey and the Foosball world by defeating the two time champion in overtime 12-10, and going on to his first finals appearance since 1996. It was also the first time Corey had ever lost before making it to the finals.
He had a two year rivalry with Angel which was halted when "The Big Pimp" decided to challenge Corey in 2000. Jim has always played Corey tough, scoring the most goals against Corey in 2000, and actually held a lead on him, after Corey was previously unscored upon.
Jim is also the Champion of the Cans and Cowboy Champion of Foosball....Some say 2000's match of the year was the first round game between Jim and Kyle which Jim won 5-4....Jim holds the 3rd longest winning streak at 5 games, and thats because he never lost in '96.....
Rivals: Greg: They have yet to meet, but every year they come very close... when it does happen on Halloween, expect an extremely intense battle....
Angel: Jim has faced Angel twice and has represented the Boston Red Sox against the Yankee fan Angel......
