ORIENT BEACH

We stayed at Orient Beach during both of our visits. The sunrises were beautiful. Even though the Atlantic trade winds are present during the day, Orient Bay is protected from heavy surf with a couple of small islands and a reef. The winds actually keep the temperatures rather mild on the east side of the island. We went to the beach every morining, for the sunrise. After a three mile round trip walk on the beach, we would relax before breakfast.

Sunrise At Orient Beach

Orient Beach is quite active during the daylight hours. Besides the poeple that stay at the resorts on the beach, buses bring cruise ship visitors, almost daily. There's plenty of room for everyone. Orient is a great place for people watchers.

These two "poeple watchers" had a close-up look of Club Orient. Club Orient is the island's clothing optional resort. Notice the binoculars?

CUPECOY BEACH

Although there are plenty of splendid beaches on St. Martin, the only other beach we visited was Cupecoy. These views of Cupecoy need no comment.
